Hundreds of passport applicants outside the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) on Constant Spring Road, Kingston, yesterday. The agency, since Wednesday, has been bombarded with applicants since the announcement of fee hikes which are due to take effect on Monday.

According to Pica, the cost of an adult passport will move to $4,500 on Monday, up from $2,500 while the fee for children's passports will be increased from $1,500 to $2,700. Additionally, the fees to replace lost or stolen passports will move from $2,500 to $9,500 for adults, and from $1,500 to $5,700 for minors. There will also be significant increases, just under 300 per cent, for express services. (Photo: Karl McLarty)
